The village

I grew up in Dublyanka — a small village in Ukraine, surrounded by fields, forests, and my mother's lifelong work as an ecologist. She taught me that a single tree is never just a tree. It is shelter, oxygen, memory, and future.

Then the war came. And I watched forests burn. I moved to England. I kept thinking about one question: why is planting a tree so complicated for ordinary people? It should be as simple as buying a coffee.
